NAMI In Our Own Voice (IOOV) is a unique public education program in which two trained speakers share compelling personal stories about living with a mental illness and achieving recovery. IOOV unmasks mental illness, using speaker stories to illustrate the individual realities of living with mental illness. You gain a better understanding of what it is like to live with mental illness and stay in recovery. NAMI In Our Own Voice can change attitudes, preconceived notions and stereotypes regarding mental illness.
If you are interested in hosting an IOOV presentation, please contact the NAMI SD office for more information.
